Bangladesh-Bhutan signed 3 MoUs and renewed 1 agreement

Three new MoUs signed and one agreement renewed between Bangladesh-Bhutan. After the meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday, the MoU was signed and the agreement renewed.

The agreements are – establishment of a burn and plastic surgery unit in Thimpu, establishment of Special Economic Zone for Bhutan in Kurigram, Bangladesh and technical cooperation in consumer protection.

Apart from this, an agreement regarding cooperation in the cultural field of the two countries was renewed.

Earlier in the morning, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan arrived in Dhaka on a four-day visit at the invitation of the Bangladesh government. President Mohammad Sahabuddin welcomed him at Shahjalal International Airport. King of Bhutan will visit Bangladesh till March 28.

During the visit, he will participate in the Bangladesh Independence and National Day celebrations. He is accompanied on the tour by the Queen of Bhutan and her family, several ministers and government officials.
