India Emphasizes Visa Issuance and Engagement with Afghan People

New Delhi : Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, said that India has historical ties with Afghanistan and in recent years, this country has continued its humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

In a press conference, Jaiswal, while stressing the continued issuance of visas to Afghans, added that his country is also committed to engagement with the people of Afghanistan.

The spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said: “As you know, we have historical ties with the people of Afghanistan; we have undertaken humanitarian assistance over several years now. We continue to be committed to this partnership with the people of Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economy said that the Islamic Emirate is seeking to expand trade and economic relations with regional countries based on a balanced policy.

Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, said: “The Islamic Emirate, relying on a balanced policy, is seeking to develop economic, trade, and transit relations with neighboring and regional countries. The Chabahar port is also one of the points that bring together the three countries of Iran, India, and Afghanistan, and we have economic cooperation and partnership in this regard.”

A number of analysts described the historical relations between Afghanistan and India as good and said that expanding the political and economic relations of the interim government with India can be beneficial for both countries.

“Maintaining balance in relations strengthens and expands Afghanistan’s political and economic relations with neighboring countries, and we can benefit from the economic capabilities of neighboring countries, especially India,” said Shaker Yaqubi, an economic analyst.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs also said that this country has historical and civilizational ties with the people of Afghanistan and these ties will continue to guide India’s approach and policy towards Afghanistan.
