Over 4,000 security personnel have been mobilized as part of an integrated special security plan crafted for the grand festival.

Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali, the spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, provided details on the comprehensive security arrangements in place. Not only have security personnel been strategically stationed, but the deployment also includes the use of drones to enhance vigilance and surveillance across the area.

The security setup operates on a three-layered approach to cover all aspects of safety. Commencing their duties from Thursday night, the security personnel will remain on high alert until Saturday, ensuring the smooth conduct of Mahashivaratri festivities.

Leading the security mobilization is Superintendent of Police Nabaraj Adhikari from the District Police Premises Kathmandu. The extensive security measures aim to maintain a peaceful environment for the thousands of devotees expected to visit Pashupati to offer prayers and participate in the sacred rituals of Mahashivaratri.

In anticipation of any unforeseen circumstances, emergency and rescue teams, accompanied by ambulances, are on standby to provide immediate assistance.
