Oil prices increased again in Pakistan

The federal government of Pakistan has increased the price of petrol by Rs 9.66 per litre. This decision of the government will be effective from today Monday. This decision of the federal government of Pakistan will be applicable for the next 15 days. News from The Express Tribune.

After the price hike, the price of petrol in Pakistan reached Rs 289.41.

According to a notification issued by the country’s finance ministry, the price of petrol has been increased as per the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Petrol is mainly used in motorbikes and cars as an alternative to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Domestic gas is not available at CNG retail outlets especially in Punjab.

However, the government of Pakistan has also decided to reduce the duty of high speed diesel (HSD) by 3.32 rupees. After the price reduction, high speed diesel is available in the country at Tk 282.24.

HSD is primarily used in the agriculture and transportation sectors. Its price reduction may help reduce inflation in Pakistan to some extent.

Earlier, the government of Pakistan has increased the price of oil several times in the last few years.
