15 killed in heatstroke in India, warning issued

India is burning in miserable heat. In the last 72 hours, 15 people died due to heat stroke in Delhi and Noida. Among them, 5 people died in Delhi and 10 people died in Noida in the last 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning in Delhi for several more days. As a result, the administration has advised common people to be careful in this situation.

It is reported that two each died in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and one in Lok Nayak Hospital. Heatstroke was cited as the cause of death in all cases.

According to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital sources, 8 to 10 patients are being admitted to the hospital every day, who are falling ill due to extreme heat. In that case, seriously ill patients are being admitted to the ICU. A total of four people were admitted to the ICU in the hospital. Two of them died.

Doctors say that mainly those who have high blood pressure and are elderly or have diabetes or heart problems, those patients are getting sick more in summer.

CK Birla Hospital in Gurugram receives an average of two patients every day who fall ill due to heat. The hospital’s internal medicine specialist Dr. Tushar Tayal said that mainly elderly people suffering from diabetes and heart disease cannot tolerate heat. They are being admitted to the hospital.

All the symptoms of heatstroke are profuse sweating, increased heart rate, dizziness, headache, muscle weakness, nausea etc. It usually takes one to two days for people who get sick with heat exhaustion to fully recover.

Meanwhile, an average of 10 heat stroke patients are being admitted to Fortis Hospital in Basant Kunj every day. Many of whom have body temperature above 40 degrees.

India has been experiencing a heatwave for the past few days. Delhi’s maximum temperature on Monday was 45.2 degrees Celsius, 6.4 degrees above normal.

According to meteorologists, such a heatwave condition will continue for several days in Delhi. In this situation, a warning has been issued by the administration. Physically weak and elderly citizens are prohibited from going out of their homes.
