At least seven people have been killed in a road accident in India’s Uttar Pradesh. 25 others were seriously injured.

A bus collided with a car on the Lucknow-Agra road in Usrahar area of ​​the state in the early hours of Sunday (August 4) local time. There were about 60 passengers in the bus at that time.

It is known that the bus with passengers fell into the ditch. Seven people died on the spot. 25 people were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. One of the injured is in critical condition.

According to local media, the passenger bus was going from Rae Bareli to Delhi. Suddenly the bus collided head-on with a car coming from the wrong lane. Due to the impact of the collision, the bus along with the passengers fell into a ditch about 20 feet deep on the side of the road. Four passengers of the bus died. On the other hand, the three people of the accident car died on the spot. They were returning from Rajasthan to Talgram in Kanauj.

Police officer Sanjay Kumar said that the driver was tired after driving all night. Perhaps that is why he entered the wrong lane while sleepy, the police initially speculated. However, a passenger of the bus told the media that the driver was sometimes busy on his mobile while driving the bus. However, the police have started an investigation to find out the cause of the accident.
