According to the report, at least 25 passengers were killed and 1 injured when a coaster bound for Rawalpindi from Kahuta fell into a ditch on Sunday, according to a rescue official.
Rescue 1122 Punjab official Usman Gujjar said that the accident occurred due to brake failure of the coaster. He also said that there were 35 passengers in the bus.
Meanwhile, rescuer Gujjar said that the bodies of the victims are currently being shifted to the Tehsil Sadar Hospital in Kahuta. He said, most of the victims were men.
The official also said that the tragic accident took place at Girari Bridge on Azad Pattan Road in Kahuta.
Meanwhile, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief over the accident. Condoling the families of those killed in the accident, he said, “My sympathies are with the bereaved families at this moment of grief.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said she was “deeply saddened by the loss of life in the Kahuta bus fall into ditch”. May Allah raise the dignity of those who died in this tragedy and grant patience to their loved ones, he said.
