4 Indian soldiers killed in armed attack in Jammu and Kashmir

At least four Indian soldiers, including a major, were killed in an attack by armed gunmen in India’s Jammu and Kashmir. Four more soldiers and one policeman were seriously injured in the incident.

The Statesman newspaper reported in a report that the casualty occurred during the gunfight in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday local time.

According to local officials, a team of Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda launched a joint operation in the Desa forest area of ​​Doda based on specific information about the presence of terrorists. These 4 people were killed in that operation.

On Monday, a spokesperson of the Indian Defense Force said, “There was a heavy exchange of fire with the terrorists today (Monday) around 9 o’clock in the night. As per the initial reports, we get information about our brave soldiers getting injured. Based on specific intelligence, a joint operation by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police began operations in the northern general area of ​​Doda. Additional troops have been deployed in the area for security. The campaign continues.

Earlier, five more soldiers of the Indian Army were killed in an attack by armed groups in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on July 8. The attack and casualties occurred at a place called Jenda Nallah in Badnota village of Kathua district. The casualties occurred when terrorists ambushed a convoy carrying Indian troops.
