4 Pakistanis killed in firing by Iranian border guards

Tension spread again on the border between Iran and Pakistan. Four people were killed by Iranian border guards on a vehicle carrying Pakistanis. Two people were injured in this incident. Pakistani officials reported this information on Thursday.

On Wednesday (May 29), the local police said that the incident took place in the border area of Maskel village in Pakistan’s Balochistan state.

State government administrative officer Sahebzada Asfand said that it is not known why the border guards of Iran fired at the vehicle.

Local police said the bodies of the four victims have been handed over to their families.

No comment was received from the foreign ministries of Pakistan and Iran in this regard.

The security forces of the two countries conduct frequent operations against smuggling and other crimes in the region. In January this year, Pakistani security forces entered Iran and raided terrorist hideouts, killing nine people. Iran also conducts similar operations along Pakistan border.
