Five Indian soldiers died in a tank accident in Ladakh, bordering China. The tank was moving towards Tongsetar and among the soldiers killed was a junior commissioned officer.

The accident took place on Friday near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Daulatbeg Oldi area of ​​Ladakh. News from NDTV.

According to the report of an army officer, this incident happened around 3 pm local time on Friday. At that time, the soldiers were practicing crossing the river with a T-72 tank. The accident happened due to the sudden increase in the river water. The bodies of five dead soldiers have been recovered.

A local police officer from Ladakh, who is stationed in Leh, told ETV Bharat that the army post where the accident took place is located 150 km from Leh. What actually happened there will be reported in detail once it is known.

The NDTV report also said that the soldiers were practicing crossing the Bodhi river with tanks at the Mandir intersection in Daulatbeg Olidi. When the tank was in the river the water suddenly started to rise. After that, within a short time, the tank and the soldiers inside it sank.
