5 people die of heatstroke while voting in India

Lok Sabha elections are going on in India. Five people died due to heatstroke during the second round of voting in the seven-phase election on Friday (April 26). Among the dead are four voters and another polling agent. This happened in Kerala.

A 68-year-old voter named Chandran fell ill in the afternoon while voting in Ottapalam of the state. He later died on the way to Ottapalam local hospital. The temperature there was 38 degrees Celsius that day.

Meanwhile, at noon, 63-year-old A. T. A madrasa teacher named Siddiqui died. He was returning home after voting. He is said to have died due to heatstroke. Similarly, a 76-year-old Kombottail Kandan, a resident of Vilayodi area, died on his way home after voting. The incident took place in Ambalapuzha area of ​​Alappuzha district.

Kakkazham Veliparambhu Somarajan returned home after casting his vote at booth number 138 of SNVT High School on Friday. Then the 82-year-old voter fell ill after returning home. Later he fell into the lap of death.

On the other hand, Left Democratic Front (LDF) polling agent Anis Ahmed was in charge of Booth No. 16 in Kozhikode Town. He fell ill suddenly due to heatstroke. 66-year-old Anis was declared dead by the doctor when he was taken to the hospital.
