6 killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan

6 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. 13 more people were injured in this incident. The attack took place in the southern area of ​​Kabul on Monday afternoon local time.

Kabul Police Spokesman Khalid Zadran wrote in a post on social media X that a person wearing explosives detonated on Monday afternoon. Unfortunately six civilians including a woman were killed and 13 injured.

Meanwhile, no one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. Spokesperson Zadran said that the investigation is ongoing.

Violence in Afghanistan has declined since a two-decade war between foreign forces and Islamist insurgents ended in 2021. However, a regional chapter of the Islamic State known as the Islamic State Khorasan remains active in Afghanistan. They regularly target civilians, foreigners and Taliban officials with gun and bomb attacks.
