64.4 percent voting in the third phase in India

The third phase of voting in India’s Lok Sabha elections has ended. 64.4 percent votes have been cast till 8 pm on this day. Among them, Assam is leading with more than 81 percent votes.

On Tuesday (May 7), 93 constituencies across 10 states and one Union Territory went to polls.

According to the country’s Election Commission (EC), voting was held in 93 constituencies that day; More than 1,300 candidates competed.

According to EC data, 64.4 percent polling was recorded till 8 pm. Among them, the highest 81.61 percent votes were cast in Assam. Voting was held in four constituencies of the state. And the lowest 57.34 percent votes were cast in Uttar Pradesh, where voting was held in 10 constituencies.

On this day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi voted in a school in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also voted in the same centre. The fate of several top politicians of the country will be decided in the third phase. Among them are Union Home Minister Amit Shah and 10 other influential ministers of Modi’s cabinet.

Meanwhile, some isolated incidents like the first and second phase have occurred in West Bengal. Voting was held in North and South Malda Murshidabad Jangipur. However, tension spread in several polling stations in Murshidabad, and there was a back-and-forth chase. Some fake voters and agents were arrested. By noon, more than five hundred complaints were submitted to the Election Commission by the political parties.

After the third phase of Lok Sabha polls, polling for 283 of the 543 seats in the Lower House of Parliament has been completed. The fourth phase of voting will be held on May 13. Voting will be held in 10 states on this day.

It should be noted that seven rounds of voting in India’s Lok Sabha elections began on April 19; It will end next June 1. Election results will be announced on June 4. In this election, the number of voters in the country is about 97 crore, out of which 21 crore are youth.
