Plane crashes at Tribhuvan Airport in Nepal, 18 killed

A plane with 19 passengers has crashed in Nepal. The plane crashed while taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport in the country’s capital, Kathmandu. After this accident, the bodies of 18 people were recovered from the accident site. Himalayan Times reported this information in a report on Wednesday (July 24).

According to a media report, a Solar Airlines plane crashed at the Tribhuvan Airport (TIA). The flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara met with an accident during take-off. At that time, only the technical staff of the airlines were in the plane.

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) spokesperson Subas Jha said the accident occurred after the Pokhara-bound flight skidded off the runway during take-off. The plane was carrying 19 passengers including crew members. Meanwhile, the bodies of 18 people have been recovered. Besides, Captain MR Shakya was rushed to the hospital.

The Himalayan Times reported that smoke was seen billowing from the plane at the crash site and fire and security personnel are currently trying to control the situation. However, how the accident happened or any other information related to it is not yet available.
