Protests in Delhi over the death of 3 students

Common students protested over the death of three students who drowned in the basement of a coaching center in Delhi, the capital of India. Paramilitary forces have been deployed to control the protests. News from NDTV.

Heavy rain lashed Delhi on Saturday (July 27) evening. It submerged many areas of the city. Three students drowned after water entered the basement of a coaching center in the city. Among the dead are two women and one man. All of them were preparing for government jobs.

The news also said that there was a coaching library in the basement. The students were sitting there studying silently. When it started raining in the evening, two to three feet of water accumulated on the roads.

The water overflowed and entered the basement of the building. At that time there were 33 students. 30 of them managed to get out safely, but three were trapped and died. Their bodies were recovered four hours later.

In protest of this incident, the general students of Delhi protested on Sunday (July 28). They claim that the accident happened due to the negligence of the responsible authorities. If the authorities had kept the drains clean, the rainwater would have gone away.
