The value of the Afghan currency rose against the dollar

While the currencies of many countries around the world are depreciating against the US dollar, the value of Afghanistan’s currency has increased. The country’s central bank said on Thursday that the value of the Afghani against the dollar has increased by 17.25 percent in the past year.

The central bank also said that last year, 149 new institutions were granted currency exchange and finance business licenses. In total, the number of these financial institutions stands at 1 thousand 780.

In addition, last year more than 7 billion old Afghan coins were collected and given new coins.

At the beginning of this year, the World Bank said, this time, the value of the Afghan currency may decrease against the major currencies of the world. But the fear of the World Bank was not correct.

Although the value of the currency has increased, Afghanistan’s economic stability has not yet returned to normal. Besides, many people are still living unemployed in the country.

Experts say keeping the currency stable and monitoring financial institutions is a positive thing. But these things are not enough to solve the deep economic crisis in Afghanistan.

Currently, 1 US dollar is exchanged in Afghanistan for 70.2 Afghanis.

Meanwhile, the Taliban came to power again in Afghanistan in 2021. This time, after taking over the responsibility of the government, they looked at the financial side.
