Air pollution in Delhi, schools closed
New Delhi, the capital of India, is suffering from severe air pollution. Air quality is deteriorating every day. However, the authorities have announced the closure of all primary schools in New Delhi as the air quality has reached ‘very bad’ levels.
All primary schools in Delhi will remain closed till Friday due to rising air pollution, officials announced. However, even if all the schools are closed, the teaching work of the students will continue online.
In a post on social media platform X, the Indian capital’s Chief Minister Atishi Marlena Singh said classes will continue online until further notice due to the dense smog that has enveloped the city. Delhi and North Indian states face smog every year during winter mainly due to drop in temperature, smog, dust particles, low wind speed, smoke emission from vehicles and crop stubble burning.
