Adivasis blame Modi-Biden-Putin for the climate crisis!
US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are floating in the river. There is Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese President Shigeru Ishibao were not left out.
One such video has spread on social media. Brazil’s indigenous people have protested by immersing their portraits in the river in silence of world leaders, mainly to combat the adverse effects of climate change.
Next Monday and Tuesday (November 18 and 19), the two-day G20 Summit will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. World leaders have already started arriving to attend the conference.
Ahead of the conference, local time Saturday (November 16) in the Botafogo river in Rio de Janeiro, the leaders and activists of Brazilian indigenous organizations protested by dipping the portraits of world leaders.
The Brazilian Indigenous Peoples Association, APIB, organized this exceptional protest program to protest the silence of world leaders on the adverse effects of climate change. At this time, they also demanded to take effective steps to prevent global warming.
An activist who participated in the protest said that the protest program titled ‘We Are Answer’ has been kept around the upcoming conference. We tribals know how to respond to climate change.’
He also said, “Before the conference, we want to convince the world leaders how they are showing their failure in climate change even though the world economy is in turmoil.”
In addition to the failure of world leaders to protect the environment, the members of the organization also demanded the demarcation of the land of the tribals legally.
Around this year’s G-20 conference, various organizations in Brazil have given advance programs including demonstrations and protests. Therefore, the security forces are active to ensure additional security in advance.
