Afghan women protest by singing

The Taliban government recently passed a new law in Afghanistan banning women from speaking loudly in public. The women of the country protested against this law by singing songs on social media. This information came out in a report of Qatar-based media Al-Jazeera.

Afghan women inside and outside the country have posted videos of themselves singing on various social media platforms. There they wrote with hashtags, “My voice is not forbidden”, “Say no to Taliban”.

The Taliban government last week documented and implemented a new 35-section code of ethics in the country. According to the new law, women must cover their faces and bodies with cloth outside the house and their voices must be kept secret.

A woman in Afghanistan protested the law by posting a video on social media. Covering her face and body with a black cloth, she protested and said, “You have imprisoned me in my house for the crime of being a woman.”

A group of women’s rights activists posted pictures of Taliban supreme leader Haibatullah Akhundzada. At this time they chanted that a woman’s voice is the voice of justice.
