Afghanistan won the recognition of the world's best by showing the surprise

Afghan saffron has been recognized as the highest quality saffron in the world for the ninth time in the global competition. The International Test Institute based in Belgium has given this recognition. Afghanistan, the world’s second largest producer of saffron, expects to harvest about 50 tons of saffron this year.
This is not the first time, the country of South Asia has produced the world’s best quality saffron for 9 consecutive times.

Afghanistan surprised the world again in the global competition. The country has been recognized as the world’s best saffron producer for the ninth time. The International Test Institute based in Belgium has given this recognition.

According to Afghan media Tolo News, saffron is by far the most valuable spice in the world. One kg of which is worth more than 5 lakh rupees in Bangladeshi currency. Afghanistan, the world’s second largest producer of saffron, expects to harvest about 50 tons of saffron this year.

Last year, Afghanistan exported about 30 tons of saffron worth thirty five million dollars to India, Saudi Arabia and some other countries. At present, the price of saffron per kg in the domestic market is 1 lakh 20 thousand Afghanis.

Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Azam Osmani said, Afghan products have their own standards in the world. Our saffron has won the first place in the global competition for the ninth time.

Saffron is grown in 26 provinces of the country, but nearly 90 percent of the country’s saffron is grown in Herat province. A Herat-based export company represents Afghanistan in the competition. Najibullah Rahmati, chief executive of that organization, said, “We have been working with farmers and processing companies for a long time. Working out how to properly dry it, process it, and now we are seeing the results.

Mohammad Ibrahim Adel, head of the Afghan Saffron Association, said that in the last eight months, about 30,000 kilos of saffron have been exported to countries like India, Spain and Saudi Arabia.

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has said that they are renovating the country’s agricultural sector. First, opium cultivation has been stopped. Now farmers are being encouraged to cultivate highly beneficial spices like saffron.
