Meanwhile, Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Kailash Gehlot has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case. He will be interrogated in this regard. Gehlot is currently serving as Home, Transport and Law Minister of Delhi Government. After receiving the summons notice, he appeared at the agency office. Online NDTV has given this news.

It said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in the same case just a few days ago.

Gehlot has been summoned to record his interrogation and statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in the case, ED sources said. The case relates to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and implementation of the Excise Policy of the Delhi Government during 2021-22. But later that policy was cancelled.

As a result of this liquor policy, the ED alleged, the retailers made an abnormal percentage of profit of around 185 per cent. And wholesalers made 12 percent profit.

According to the complaint, 6 percent of the wholesalers’ profits were used as bribes. This money was spent on election campaigns in Goa and Punjab. The amount of such money is at least 600 crore rupees. The group involved in this business allegedly paid Rs 100 crore as bribe to the Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders.

ED said in its complaint that Gehlot used only one SIM number. But changed his International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) three times. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with three top leaders of Aam Aadmi Party have been arrested on these charges. The other two are party MP Sanjay Singh and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Meanwhile, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandshekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavita has also been taken to jail.
