Confirming this information on Sunday, he said that a three-day general holiday has been announced across the country by the government’s executive order. All banking and financial institutions will be closed during this time.

Earlier, this afternoon, the Ministry of Public Administration announced a three-day general holiday from Monday due to the ongoing situation in the country. The matter was confirmed by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury.

Meanwhile, due to the violent situation surrounding the quota reform movement, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an indefinite curfew across the country from 6 pm on Sunday. Sharif Mahmud Apu, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs confirmed the matter in a press release.

Asif Mahmud, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement, announced a one-point demand in a Facebook post on Saturday midnight. At least 37 people were reported killed in various parts of the country in clashes surrounding this program throughout the day on Sunday.
