Russia has accused the US of meddling in Indian elections. However, Washington rejected Moscow’s accusation.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in response to reporters’ questions at a regular press conference, “We are not interfering in Indian elections.” We don’t even interfere in any election in the world.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry alleged that the United States was trying to destabilize the Lok Sabha elections held in India. Moscow made such accusations against Washington after it criticized India for violating religious freedom in the report of the US Federal Commission.
On Wednesday, Russian state-run media outlet RT News reported that Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United States does not have the ability to understand India’s national mentality and history. And they are making baseless complaints about the country’s religious freedom.
Zakharova called it ‘disrespectful’ to India as a country and a state.
