At least 36 killed in landslides in 4 states of India

At least 36 people have been killed in four northeastern Indian states after heavy rains and landslides triggered by Cyclone Remal. Out of this 27 people died in Mizoram alone.

At least 36 people were killed in heavy rains and landslides in four northeastern Indian states on Tuesday under the influence of Cyclone Remal, officials said, in a report on Wednesday by media outlet NDTV. At the same time, normal life has come to a standstill as road and rail connectivity has been damaged in eight states of the region, they said.

NDTV says 27 people have died in Mizoram alone among the northeastern states. Out of which 21 people were killed in a mine collapse in Aizawl district of the state. Besides, four people died in Nagaland, three in Assam and two in Meghalaya.
