Bilateral meeting between Modi and Meloni on the sidelines of G-7 summit
Narendra Modi went to Italy on his first foreign visit after becoming the Prime Minister of India for the third time in a row. Besides attending the G-7 summit there, Modi held a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to improve the relations between the two countries. Earlier, Meloni took a selfie with Modi.
Responding to Georgia Meloni’s invitation to attend the G-7 summit, Modi arrived in Italy early on Friday (June 14).
Indian media NDTV reported in a report that on this day, Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Meloni took a selfie on the sidelines of the G-7 summit. After this selfie went viral, netizens created a stir.
Besides taking pictures, Modi met Meloni on the sidelines of the G-7 summit and discussed bilateral relations.
Meloni congratulated Modi on becoming the Prime Minister of India for the third time. Modi also thanked Meloni for inviting him to the conference.
During the meeting, they successfully discussed political issues and reviewed the progress of strategic partnership between the two countries.
Besides, in the meeting, Duneta expressed his satisfaction with the mutual cooperation in the growing trade and economy of the two countries. During this time they called for expansion of commercial relations in clean energy, manufacturing, space, S&T, telecom, AI and important mineral resources sectors.
Modi and Meloni also discussed bilateral defense and security cooperation. They also hoped to increase cooperation in the defense industry.
Earlier on Friday (June 14), Meloni and Modi took a selfie on the sidelines of the conference. In that selfie, it can be seen that the leaders of both countries are smiling. Also in the video they both shake hands in front of the camera. At this time, Meloni said “Hello from the Melody Team”.

The term ‘melody’ went viral on social media after a bilateral meeting between Meloni and Modi last year. Even last year, a selfie of the two leaders taken on the sidelines of the COP28 climate conference in Dubai was widely shared on the internet.
