BJP government under pressure again on Adani issue

New excitement has started in India about Adani Group. Due to which the BJP government is again under a lot of pressure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been going through tough times since the beginning of his third term. After various pressures from the opposition, the money laundering of Adani Group, close to Modi, has come to the fore. As a result, the Modi government is in danger again.

US-based investigation and research institute Hindenburg has raised serious charges of money laundering against the head of the stock market regulatory agency and her husband, who are supposed to investigate the manipulation of share prices of industrial groups. Earlier, the international investigative agency had accused the Adani group of manipulation of its shares. The BJP government of the country is in a lot of trouble due to this new allegation. The agency had earlier published an investigation report on artificially increasing the share price of Adani, one of India’s largest industrial conglomerates. After the publication of the report, Gautam Adani, the head of the Adani Group, dropped from the world’s third-richest list to the 29th-richest. Sebi, the country’s stock market regulator, was investigating this crime of Adani, accused of controlling the market by raising and lowering share prices. This time, Hindenburg said, Sebi chief Madhavi Buch and her husband Dhabal Buch are not only partners in Adani’s brother Vinod Adani’s offshore company but also accomplices in laundering Adani’s money abroad.

The Adani group has been claimed by various political parties, including India’s main opposition Congress, as businessmen close to Modi. It is said that Gautam Adani has built a lot of financial wealth during the rule of BJP. As the new allegations came to light, this time the opposition has also moved against the Modi government. In the meantime, Congress, Trinamool, Shiv Sena formed a parliamentary committee and demanded to investigate all the allegations. Although nothing has been officially said yet. However, both SEBI chief Madhavi and Dhabal Buch told the media that lies are being spread against those accused only to defame their character. They did not launder money or any of their financial transactions. Madhavi Buch was appointed as the head of the Securities and Exchange Board of India or SEBI in 2017 by the BJP government.
