BJP won 240 seats, Congress won 99 seats

The final results of the Lok Sabha elections in India have been announced. The Election Commission has officially announced the results of 543 constituencies.

It has been seen that BJP alone got 240 seats. Congress got 99 seats. Samajwadi Party got 37 seats. West Bengal Trinamool Congress won 29 seats. Other parties got the rest of the seats.

This time no single party got majority. However, in the 2019 elections, BJP alone won 302 seats. Through this they qualified to form a single government in the country. But this time the Hindutva party could not show such magic.

The BJP-led alliance ‘NDA’ won 293 seats. On the other hand, the Congress-led alliance ‘India’ got 233 seats. Other parties got the remaining 17 seats. Modi can form the government with the parties in the ‘NDA’ alliance. However, there have been reports that Congress is in contact with Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar. If they break alliance with BJP and join Congress then Congress can also form the government.

A party has to win 272 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats to form the government alone. No team got this number. So this time the coalition government will be formed.
