Call of student movement in Pakistan to demand Imran’s release
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-affiliated Insaf Students Federation (ISF) on Friday announced the launch of a movement for the release of party founder Imran Khan and restoration of genuine democracy in the country.
ISF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Ashfaq Marwat and other student leaders expressed concern over the current situation in the country at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club.
He said the constitution had effectively been suspended and rampant inflation and unemployment had resulted. The law and order situation remains a fundamental problem. Protests by oppressed people spread across the country.
The ISF president claimed that an endless cycle of enforced disappearances and abductions had begun. The country’s most popular leader has been unjustly imprisoned for over a year and countless students and political activists have been jailed for no justifiable reason.
Ashfaq Marwat also said that there is no other option but to start ‘Pakistan Students Movement’. An action committee will be formed soon. This committee will work under the framework of constitution and law to achieve the objectives.
He demanded immediate release of Imran Khan and all the royal prisoners.
