At least 10 people have lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. All the victims were migrant workers.
NDTV reported that the accident took place on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Friday morning local time. They were all going to Srinagar. On the way, the car carrying them fell into a ditch 300 feet deep from the highway.
Jammu and Kashmir Police, Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Quick Response Team (QRT) have joined the rescue operation.
It may be noted that for the last few days it has been raining and snowing in Jammu and Kashmir. That is why the roads are wet. It is initially believed that the vehicle lost control due to a skid on the road.
