Climate Parliament and SACCJF will work to address climate change challenges

Dhaka: The Climate Parliament of Bangladesh and the South Asian Climate Change Journalists’ Forum (SACCJF) have agreed to work together to tackle climate change challenges in South Asia.

This consensus was reached in a meeting of the South Asian Climate Change Journalist’s Forum with Bangladesh Climate Parliament Chairman Tanvir shakil Joy MP in Dhaka on March 25.

On this occasion Climate Parliament Chairman Tanvir shakil Joy MP was briefed about the recent activities of the South Asian Climate Change Journalists’ Forum.

MP Tanvir shakil Joy praised the public hearing program of people affected by climate change in Kunderchar of Gaibandha district.

He said that Bangladesh is one of the most affected countries due to climate change. But Bangladesh is not at all responsible for climate change. SACCJF empowers communities affected by climate change to speak out.

He said that since 2010 Climate Parliament started working in Bangladesh. Already works jointly with the legislators of other countries of the world. Also played an important role in the last COP-27 conference.

He said that if the South Asian Climate Change Journalist’s Forum works together with the Climate Parliament, the process of climate justice will be accelerated to the world.

SACCJF President Asish Gupta, Secretary General Asaduzzaman Shamrat and Treasurer Masum Billah participated in the meeting. At the end of the meeting, a letter related to the SACCJF’s activities was handed over to the Chairman of the Climate Parliament.
