A deep depression is moving towards the coastal areas of Bangladesh and India from the Bay of Bengal. Which is going to turn into a cyclone today Saturday (May 25) evening. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in four states of India due to the fear of heavy rainfall due to the impact of this cyclone.

In a post on social media X (Twitter), the IMD said, ‘Red Alert: Heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur intermittently over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on May 27.’

The organization also said that there is a possibility of 204.4 millimeters of rain in the provinces on that day.

The cyclone that is going to form in the Bay of Bengal will be named Remal. It will turn into a severe cyclone on Sunday morning Bangladesh time. After that, it will start raging as a strong cyclone from midnight on this day.

The Indian Meteorological Department said the cyclone will pass through the region between Khepupara in Bangladesh and Sagar Dwip in West Bengal. At that time, the wind speed of the cyclone will be 110 to 120 km per hour. And the wind speed will be 130 kilometers per hour.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief of Bangladesh Mahibur Rahman said that due to the cyclone, a disaster signal may be issued from Saturday night.

Attempts are being made to find out whether the main hit of the cyclone will be Bangladesh or western India. Due to this, the movement of the cyclone is being watched from the beginning.

As per latest information, it is located over central Bay of Bengal and has moved at 11 km per hour in last 6 hours.
