Death toll rises to 341 in heavy rains in Pakistan
A total of 341 people were killed in accidents caused by heavy rains in some parts of Pakistan between July 1 and September 5. At least 613 people were injured in these incidents. News Voice of America.
The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan reported this information last Thursday (September 5).
Authorities said 26,732 houses, 40 bridges and several schools were partially or completely damaged across the country due to heavy rains.
The eastern province of Punjab has been worst affected by the rains. There, 123 people lost their lives and 317 people were injured due to heavy rains. In addition, 99 people were killed and 134 injured in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Hot and dry conditions have been experienced in most parts of Pakistan since Thursday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said. The monsoon season is expected to end completely by Friday.
