During Mamata's time, the number of mosques increased by 24,000

In the last 12 years of Mamata’s government, mosques have increased 2.5 times in West Bengal. According to the government, 40 thousand mosques have increased.

BJP leader Jagannath Chatterjee claimed this in a press conference on Thursday. He said that during the 12-year rule of the Trinamool government, the number of mosques in the state has increased almost 2.5 times. At the same time, the imam-muezzin allowance is being paid with taxpayers’ money.

Jagannathbabu said, Mamata has increased the allowance of about 70 thousand imams and muezzins of the state 2 months ago. There was no budget allocation to increase this allowance. The Chief Minister had called a conference of imams and muezzins last August to increase their allowances; But without informing anyone, they increased the allowance of imams and muezzins just before the polls. For this, the state government will spend 200 crore rupees this year.

He also said that about 40 thousand imams are getting 3 thousand taka per month and 27 thousand muezzins are getting 1500 taka per month. Since 2015, Mamata Banerjee has given about Tk 1400 crore as allowance to Imam Muazzins.
