11 districts of the country have fallen very suddenly. No one was prepared. As a result, people leave their homes and livelihoods and run to safe shelter with their family members. The people of the remote areas of Feni, Noakhali, Laxmipur and Comilla did not even get that opportunity. Millions of people are trapped in their homes in these areas. Around 11 percent of mobile towers in 10 flood-affected districts are down. Only in Feni, 92 percent of the towers are non-operational. Electricity connection is also closed. While some are able to go to shelters, many are helpless and staying under roofs, tin roofs or open air. no food There is no clean water. When night falls, it is strangely dark and quiet. There is water all around. Some areas have reached the extreme limits of humanitarian disaster.

Meanwhile, crop fields and fish farms have been submerged in water in various districts and upazilas. Livestock and farm animals, poultry, furniture were swept away. Many houses have also been destroyed by the water. All these destitute people now only want to live. Around 200 families are missing after the Gomti river dam broke at Burichong in Comilla. Local administration, army, various political and social organizations, voluntary groups are carrying out rescue operations in the affected areas. Relief assistance is also being provided. But the Banvasis say, it is very less than the requirement. Moreover, they are more active around the city. Many people are not able to go to far-off rural towns at risk.

In a press conference on the flood situation at the Secretariat on Friday, Disaster Management and Relief Secretary said that 77 upazilas in 11 districts of the country were flooded and 584 unions and municipalities were affected. 13 people have died so far. Among them, 4 died in Comilla, 1 in Feni, 2 in Chittagong, 1 in Noakhali, 1 in Brahmanbaria, 1 in Laxmipur and 3 in Cox’s Bazar. 44 lakh 97 thousand 535 people have been affected in various ways due to flood. He said that the flood has become severe in Feni. Besides, Chittagong, Comilla, Noakhali, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Brahmanbaria, Laxmipur, Khagrachari and Cox’s Bazar have been affected by floods.

Disaster Secretary said that 3 thousand 160 shelters have been opened so far. One lakh 88 thousand 739 people have taken shelter in these shelters. A total of 637 medical teams are operational to provide medical services to the victims of 11 districts. Feni: Feni is floating in water. Almost all areas of the district are submerged in water. Mobile network, internet and electricity connection disconnected for two days. As a result, the relatives outside the district are not able to know the condition of the family members. Locals say that they have never seen such a terrible flood in Feni before. Especially in Feni, everyone was surprised by the rising water. Every upazila of the district is affected by floods. However, these three upazilas, Chhagalnaya, Phulgazi and Parashuram are completely under water. Parashuram and Fulgazi upazilas are completely separated. Most people are suffering here. The water-strapped people said that their food and drinking water had run out long ago. Army, Navy, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Fire Service and various voluntary organizations are working to rescue the displaced people.

On Friday, various areas of Feni Sadar were visited, houses, roads and agricultural land were submerged in water in most of the places. In many villages the houses are lying empty. Water has entered the ground floor of most of the buildings. Some have sheltered on the second and third floors and are looking out through the balconies in search of food and water.

Comilla, Burichong, Brahmanpara, Titas and Chandina: On Thursday night, Gomti and Kakri rivers broke and flooded 14 upazilas including Nangalkot, Manoharganj, Burichong, Chauddagram and Laksam. Hundreds of thousands of families have become watertight. Riverside residents spend sleepless nights. Local chairman Haji Billal Hossain said that around 200 families have gone missing after the Gomti dam broke. The army and various voluntary organizations are working to rescue the people trapped in the affected area since Friday morning. However, the victims complained that no assistance was extended from the district and upazila administrations until the afternoon. The crop field has sunk. Livestock and farm animals, poultry, furniture were swept away. 1 million people of Comilla have lost everything. The communication of the main road of the district headquarters with the upazila headquarters has also been closed.

Hundreds of fish pens, hectare after hectare of ripe Aush paddy, seed beds of Aman paddy and vegetables and other crops were submerged in the flooded areas. Farmers and farmers are facing indescribable losses due to loss of crops.

Belal Hossain, a resident of Kashipur village in Nangalkot, said that our entire village has been flooded. Water entered most of the houses. I’ve seen floods before, but never before.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Comilla Sarbik Pankaj Barua said that 14 upazilas have been flooded in the district so far. 50 thousand flood affected people have taken shelter in 724 shelters. Ramgatti and Raipur (Laxmipur): Charfalkon, Saheberhat, Patarirhat, Charmartin, Charalrens, Charkalkini Unions have been submerged in abnormal tidal water due to lack of dam to protect the banks of Meghna river.People of Torabganj and Hajirhat Union are also stuck in water. There is no end to the misery of water-logged people in the villages around Charthika and Bhulua rivers of Charkadira union of Kamalnagar upazila.

District Fisheries Officer Mohammad Billal Hossain said that about 45,000 ponds were drowned due to Meghna tide and ten days of heavy rain in 5 upazilas including Raipur.

Mirsarai (Chittagong): About 10,000 people from at least 10 villages of some unions of the upazila are staying in different schools, madrasas, community centers and private humanitarian shelters. In addition, the number of people affected by the flood is about 80 thousand. At the personal level, some have cooperated in various ways including food and water, but still thousands of people are out of relief. Karrhat volunteer Kamrul Islam said that the people who have taken shelter in different schools and madrasas need enough food, clean water and medicines.

Habiganj and Chunarughat: 14 thousand 340 families of the district have become watertight. Many have gone to the shelters with their families and livestock. Former UP member. Raich Ali said, many houses of 20-25 villages in our area have been submerged due to the broken river dam. Richi, Jalalabad, Chhota Bahula, Sultan Mahmudpur, Noagaon and surrounding villages along with vast areas of Howrah’s Aman paddy fields were washed away. It caused extensive damage to crops. Umra Khatun, who is sheltered at Ritchie High School, said she did not eat anything all day on Thursday. I ate some rice at night.

Akhaura (Brahmanbaria): The suffering people are heaving a sigh of relief as the water level of the Howrah river started receding. However, the residents of several areas of the upazila are still under water.

Khagrachari: Most of the people of Merung Union of Dighinala are watertight. Samiran Chakma, UP member of Ward No. 7 of Merung Union, said, about 7 villages of my ward are still submerged in flood water. They have been under water since Monday night. The upazila administration has given relief assistance to the families of remote areas on Friday.

Rangunia (Chittagong): The body of a young man who was swept away by the river while crossing the bill with a bamboo raft has been recovered. His name is Md. Ronnie (17). He is the son of Abu Bakr of Fulbagicha village of Dakshin Rajanagar union of upazila. His body was found around 11:30 pm on Thursday after about 7 hours of disappearance.

Rangamati: The picturesque suspension bridge of Rangamati has sunk due to rising water in Kaptai lake. However, the flood situation in the district is improving due to reduced rainfall. The water from the mountain stream coming down from the upstream is gradually decreasing. Baghaichhari upazila executive officer Shirin Akter said that more than 10,000 people are affected by floods in Baghaichhari upazila. Among them, about 2,000 poor people have stayed in government shelters.

Hathajari (Chittagong): More than 30 villages of Farhadabad and Dhalai Union of Upazila have been submerged in water after Haldar Dam broke in the area near the new bridge of Halda River. Apart from this, about two lakh people of 14 unions and 1 municipality under the upazila have become waterlogged. The people of 6 wards of Farhadabad Union No. 1 have been affected the most by the flood. Volunteers were seen rescuing the flood victims with boats and sampans since Friday morning. Dry food, fresh water and khichuri have been distributed as relief to the affected people.

Companiganj (Noakhali): About two million people are water-logged in 8 upazilas of the district. Among them, about 76,000 flood-affected people have gone to 502 shelters. There is a shortage of food and clean water in the district. The people coming to the shelter complain that the government is not giving them enough support including food. But people are being given food with the help of the people around the various shelters and voluntary organizations.

Moulvibazar and Kulaura: Two lakh people of the district have become waterlogged. Many have gone to shelters and some are risking their lives by staying at home in the water. Due to the extreme deterioration of the flood, the locals are facing food shortage. Some cannot cook at home. Many people are not able to go to market because the road has sunk. The flood victims complain that they are not being given much relief by the government. According to district administration sources, 212 villages have been inundated by floods, 47 shelters have been opened, 7,145 people have taken shelter in the shelters and 60 medical teams are there. 516 metric tons of rice and cash assistance of Tk 20 lakh 50 thousand has been given.
