Good news for air travel in India, 7 charges dropped

Passengers are required to pay many charges while booking their flight tickets. But from now on 7 charges will not have to be paid.

At the time of sale of air tickets, the airline authority has to charge the fare by ‘opt in’ method. To be separated from the ticket are – preferred seats, meals, airline lounge fares, check-in baggage fees, sports equipment charges, musical instrument charges and baggage charges.

If these 7 items are charged separately from the flight ticket, the flight fare will be much cheaper. Passengers will take those services only and will have to pay the charges for that service.

In its circular, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation India (DGCA) said that the airline authorities charge extra money from the passengers at the time of ticketing in the name of providing some services. Tolls are deducted in many sectors which passengers have no need for. As a result, they are separated from the ticket price.

The DGCA notification also said that the passenger must provide all the information clearly. So that he can choose the facilities according to his choice. So that the passenger does not have to pay extra charges even if he makes a mistake. It is the aviation authority’s responsibility to remove all confusion. How much money is being charged in any sector should be clearly written on the ticket.
