Hasina's mistakes, Mamata won't do: West Bengal Development Minister

North Bengal Development Minister of India’s West Bengal, Udayan Guha has made it clear, “The police will not allow this state to turn into Bangladesh.” The government of the ruling party Trinamool Congress will not allow this state to become Bangladesh.

The Trinamool had called for a massive rally at Sagardighi Bank in Cooch Behar district of the state on Saturday evening to demand justice for the death of a medical student at Rjikar Medical College Hospital. Udayan Guhar made this comment while speaking in that program.

It is to be noted that on August 9, there were allegations of rape and murder of a second-year post-graduate student of Kolkata’s Traditional Government Hospital (RGCOR). Since then, the students have been continuously protesting for the past few days. Not only the medical students of RGKOR, the students of other government and private medical colleges and educational institutions of the state also joined him. As a result, the movement has gained momentum. Women also went on a night strike across the state on Wednesday demanding the hanging of the culprits in the brutal murder of Rjikar. But in between, a group of people entered the RGKOR Medical College Hospital at midnight on Wednesday and ransacked. The hospital’s life-saving medicines were destroyed, several machines, windows, doors, tables, chairs, police cars, motorcycles were vandalized. Attacks were also carried out on law enforcement agencies and media workers who went to collect news.

In the context of the increasing intensity of the student movement in West Bengal like neighboring Bangladesh, the question has started to arise in the minds of many, but is the situation like Bangladesh going to happen in Far Bengal too?

In that context, North Bengal Development Minister of the state said on Saturday, warning the attackers, ‘After that incident, those who are pointing fingers at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, abusing Mamata Banerjee in dirty language through social media, those who are pointing fingers and demanding Mamata Banerjee’s resignation – the arrangement is to mark and break those fingers. have to do Otherwise they will try to make Bengal a new Bangladesh. But they don’t know that Mamata Banerjee will not make the same mistake that Hasina did. Therefore, even after rioting and vandalism in Rjikar Medical College, the police did not fire. Police will not allow Bangladesh here. The government will not allow Bangladesh here. Trinamool workers will not allow this Bengal to become Bangladesh with the help of common people.

On this same issue two days ago, the Chief Minister was heard to target the opposition and say, ‘CPIM and BJP you are doing politics. You think that an incident has happened in Bangladesh, if we can pull it and seize power! But I will say, I do not have the illusion of power. I think as long as I live, I will serve people, I will give justice to people.
