Helicopter crash in Nepal kills all passengers including pilot. There were four passengers and one pilot in the helicopter. All four passengers are Chinese nationals. Nepal’s civil aviation authority says contact with the helicopter was lost three minutes after takeoff on Wednesday. It later crashed in Nuwakot district north of the capital. Another helicopter was immediately sent to the accident site for rescue.
Nepal has a dismal track record in aviation safety, and the Himalayan republic has seen fatal light aircraft and helicopter accidents for decades. Police spokesman Dan Bahadur Karki told AFP that all five people on board, including the pilot, had died.
