Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of the country, has demanded fresh elections under the impartial EC in Pakistan. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader made this demand from the high-security Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, according to a report by the Indian media on Saturday.
There are about 200 cases in the name of this former cricketer and PTI leader. He is serving sentence in some of these cases. He is now lodged in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The caretaker government gave the election while keeping him in jail. And in that the leaders of his party have to be elected as independents. Speaking about the election, Imran Khan said, “I believe in La Ilaha Illallahutei” (There is no god but Allah). And from this belief, I think that my struggle will continue on the way to the liberation of truth. Even after almost a year in jail and extreme temperatures, I will not bow down to dictators.’
This message of Imran Khan was published on social media X. He also said, ‘I am ready to die in prison. However, as long as I live, I will fight. The whole country knows this, Khan said, mentioning that the recently held national elections were the most fraudulent in history. Despite this, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is saying that the Election Commission has done well. We have to get justice from this commission. I want a new election. And that should be through a new and impartial commission.
It should be noted that former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan was forced to step down from the post of Prime Minister in April 2022. Since then, this 71-year-old politician is facing one crisis after another. He has been in jail since August last year. He is accused in a total of four cases. However, the imprisonment sentence of two cases has been cancelled.
During his tenure in power, there were several cases against him, including the crime of selling gifts without informing from the government treasury, the crime of wasting state resources through violence. Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s wife Bushra BBI is also in jail for the crime of illegal marriage.
