Imran Khan got bail in two more cases

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan got bail from two more cases of violence. After arguments on Monday, Judicial Magistrate Murid Abbas and Shahzad Khan announced the bail verdict.

Apart from Khan, leaders of his party Tehree-e-Insaaf (PTI) have also been granted bail in the same case. This information was reported in Dawn news on Tuesday.

PTIE leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Qasim Suri, Zartaj Gul, Ali Nawaz Awan, Faisal Javed, Shireen Mazari, Saifullah Niazi, Asad Omar and Awami Muslim League Chairman Sheikh Rashid were acquitted. The court acquitted them nearly two years after they were booked on charges of violence, rioting, obstructing public services and mischief with fire or explosives.

After the hearing of Imran Khan’s plea seeking exemption from the case, the verdict said that there is not enough evidence against Khan. The evidence before the court is not sufficient to prove the allegations.

Earlier, during the proceedings before Judicial Magistrate Abbas, PTIPD counsel Naeem Panjotha presented arguments. He requested the court to acquit the PTI leader. He said that the allegations leveled against him were baseless and politically motivated.

He also emphasized that PTI’s protest on May 25, 2022 was peaceful. He also highlighted the absence of video evidence implicating Khan and other leaders of his party. Earlier, Imran Khan, PTI leader Asad Omar and Khurram Shahzad were acquitted in another such case.
