Imran Khan's tone is soft on apologizing to the army

Pakistan’s former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has agreed to offer a conditional apology to Pakistan’s powerful army. The army had earlier asked him to apologize for the May 9 violence across the country.

However, Imran Khan rejected the proposal claiming that he was not responsible for the violence. Now he has softened his tone on that matter.

Imran gave this information while talking to reporters at the temporary court set up inside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Wednesday (August 8). Khabar Sama TV.

Imran Khan told reporters that he would apologize if PTI leaders were involved in the riots that broke out across the country after he was arrested by the Islamabad High Court last year in a corruption case. However, he claimed that the leaders and workers of his party were not involved in this riot as before.

Imran also said that if any of the PTI leaders and activists are involved in the May 9 violence, I will fire them. I myself will seek punishment of PTI members.

On August 4, Imran Khan completed one year of imprisonment. He responded to various written questions from Reuters on his current political position. There he termed not having good relations with the country’s army as ‘foolishness’. Even though he blamed the US for the overthrow of his government, he has now softened his tone.

In April 2022, Imran Khan was ousted by a vote of no confidence in Parliament. He made strong accusations against the army at various times as the reason behind the fall of the government. After the overthrow of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government led by Imran Khan, a coalition government was formed under the leadership of PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif. Then in February this year, the PML-N alliance came back to power in the national elections.
