Imran's wife Bushra ordered to be transferred from home to jail

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the transfer of Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan’s former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, from Banigala upazila to Adiala Jail. Imran is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail.

Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb of the IHC gave this order while pronouncing the reserved judgment on the petition filed by Bushra to be transferred to Adiala Jail on Wednesday (May 8).

The Imran-Bushra couple was sentenced to 14 years in prison in January last year on charges of illegally selling state gifts. While Imran was in jail, Bushra was kept under house arrest in his Islamabad home. The country’s government ordered him under house arrest citing security concerns.

Bushra Bibi challenged the house arrest order in court. His lawyer Naeem Panjutha said this in a post on social media X.

Bushra Bibi’s lawyers petitioned the Islamabad High Court to transfer her to jail. Today the court granted that application.

Earlier, Imran’s house in Islamabad was declared a sub-jail. Imran’s party said Bushra had alleged that the authorities were feeding him poisoned food while under house arrest. However, the authorities denied the allegations.
