India has successfully launched a ballistic missile

India has successfully launched the new generation ballistic missile ‘Agni Prime’. The missile was launched from Abdul Kalam Island on the coast of Odisha at around 7 pm on Wednesday (April 3). News from TRT World.

India’s defense ministry said in a statement on Thursday (April 4) that the success of the missile test was confirmed by data from several range sensors deployed at various locations around Abdul Kalam Island.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, Strategic Forces Command and Armed Forces for the successful defensive launch. He said the successful development of the missile and its induction into the military is “great” news for India. India’s military power will increase several times.

According to Indian media, the ‘Agni Prime’ missile is the new generation missile of the Agni series. Its weight is 11 thousand kg. The missile is capable of hitting any target at a distance of 2,000 km. The 34.5 feet long missile can be fitted with one or more Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) warheads. This missile can destroy multiple targets simultaneously.
