India's Lok Sabha Elections: Voting in 93 constituencies in third phase

Today is the third phase of voting in India. In this phase, voting will be taken in 93 centers in 10 states and one union territory.

These centers are Gujarat (25), Karnataka (14), Maharashtra (11), Uttar Pradesh (10), Madhya Pradesh (9), Chhattisgarh (7), Bihar (5), Assam (4), West Bengal (4), Goa. (2), Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu (2).

The four constituencies that will be held in West Bengal are Maldah North, Maldah South, Jangipur and Murshidabad. The total number of voters in these four centers is 73 lakh 37 thousand 651 people. The fate of 57 candidates will be decided. A total of 7,360 polling stations have been opened. 334 companies of central forces will be deployed along with 10,000 policemen to make elections free and peaceful.

Trinamool candidate Abu Taher Khan, BJP candidate Gauri Shankar Ghosh and CPIM candidate Mohammad Saleem in Murshidabad constituency. Former IPS officer Prasoon Banerjee is the Trinamool candidate for Malda North seat, BJP candidate Khagen Murmu, Congress candidate Mostak Alam.

Shahnaz Ali Raihan of Trinamool, BJP candidate Srirupa Mitra Chowdhury, Isha Khan Chowdhury of Congress in Malda South Centre. Trinamool candidate Khalilur Rahman, BJP’s Dhananjay Ghosh, Congress candidate Mortaza Hossain in Jangipur.

In this phase, the fate of 1 thousand 351 candidates across the country will be decided. Among the heavyweight candidates are BJP’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), BJP candidate Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), BJP’s former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Vidisha), BJP candidate Union Parliamentary Minister Prahlad Joshi (Dharwad), BJP candidate Central Health Minister Mansukh Mandavya (Porbandar), BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo (South Goa), former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav (Mainpuri), former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Congress candidate Dwigvijay Singh (Rajgarh).

Incidentally, there will be a total of seven rounds of Lok Sabha elections in India this time. In that case, the next steps are respectively the fourth round on May 13, the fifth round on May 20, the sixth round on May 26 and the seventh and last round of voting on June 1. Counting will be held on June 4.
