Jihad gets Tk 5,000 to cut Bangladeshi MP Azim’s body into 80 pieces

Butcher Jihad Hawladar of Khulna cut Anwarul Azim’s body into 80 pieces and threw it in the Bagjola Canal of Bhandar for only five thousand rupees.

One of the masterminds of the murder, Amanullah Aman, a notorious criminal from Bangladesh, also promised to pay another 50,000 taka if he returned to the country.

The Butcher Jihad caught by the West Bengal CID in Calcutta has revealed several such sensational information to the detectives on Saturday. However, despite searching the Bagjola canal of Bhandar by lowering divers and throwing nets, the body of the slain member of parliament was not found.

On the other hand, the detectives interrogated three people from Bangladesh and one from Kolkata and found out that behind the murder of MP Anar there was a dispute between the two parties regarding the gold smuggling transaction of Tk 200 crore.

One party was the deceased MP Anwarul Azim Anna, the other party was Aktaruzzaman Shaheen, an American expatriate friend of Anwar’s. According to intelligence information, both of them used to smuggle gold from Dubai to India via Bangladesh.

Allegedly, MP Annar hid gold worth more than 100 crore rupees with himself. Aktaruzzaman came to know that last year. The detectives initially confirmed that the dispute between the two of them and ultimately the murder was due to the return of this money and gold.

Shaheen had threatened to kill the MP once before. So the investigators think that he is the mastermind of this murder.

Butcher Jihad was brought to the side of Bhandar Canal in the third phase after his arrest from Bangaon on the Benapole border. Of course, Jihad was also taken to the Sanjiba Garden high-rise apartment where the murder and dismemberment took place.

The murder was ‘re-enacted’ in the presence of about 20-22 detective officers and a Deputy Commissioner. Where in the house MP Anar was first placed, how he was strangled and killed was shown by Jihad. Jihad admitted that the killers confirmed the fact that they were killed by suffocation by suddenly pressing a pillow, but later hit the head.

The entire episode was ‘reconstructed’ by dressing up an intelligence officer as Azim. However, during the enacting of the whole episode, the detectives showed several pictures to Jihad.

These pictures are of the three people who have already been arrested in Dhaka, which have been sent by the detectives who went to Bangladesh for investigation from Kolkata.

On this day Jihad repeatedly claimed, ‘I did not kill, I only cut the body into pieces. And I didn’t know, he is an MP. But Jihad said that there was a beautiful woman in the flat at the time of the murder. The detectives are sure that the woman is the young Celesti Rahman, who has already been arrested for Azim’s murder in Dhaka.

According to West Bengal CID sources, the arrested butcher Jihad has given serious and sensational information during the day-long interrogation and ‘reconstruction’ phase in the flat. Jihad admitted that the body of Anar, who was killed in this interrogation, was cut into 80 pieces and dumped in various places in Newtown, Bhandar area. And got 5000 rupees in the first phase in return for this work.

Investigating officers have admitted that it is very difficult to recover all the body parts dumped in the Bhanada canal. Because the detectives speculate that the body parts may have been eaten by animals mixed in the water of the canal.

Meanwhile, 12 days after the MP’s murder, the detectives of West Bengal are very worried that the body or body parts of the deceased have not been found. In fact, for that reason, the investigators have been searching the Bagjola Canal near Bhandar in Kolkata for 3 consecutive days according to the statement of the already arrested Butcher Jihad.

Because, both the butcher Jihad and the cab driver had already said that the body parts were thrown in plastic bags in the water of the canal. Even on this day, divers were lowered into the canal and searched for about 6 hours in half a kilometer long water. The littering of the canal is also removed. A rubber speedboat was also lowered.

The entire operation was supervised by an officer of the rank of Superintendent of Police. But at the end of the day, no body parts or bones of the deceased Azim were found.

Meanwhile, blood samples smeared on the corner of the flat’s bed and clothing have been sent for forensic examination. Because, if the body or body parts of the slain MP are not found, it will be very difficult to present objective evidence, the investigating Kolkata detectives think.

After learning about the murder, West Bengal CID started investigating and arrested Jihad and Siam from Bangaon. Jihad is the butcher. Although a resident of Bangladesh, he worked in Mumbai. They were hired for cash to kill the MP. So they admitted in the cross-examination that they came from Mumbai to Kolkata.

After the murder, they planned to escape to Bangladesh through Bongaon border. But caught. After the murder, the MP’s body was cut into 80 pieces and dumped in the canal. Therefore, the canal has been continuously searched since Thursday night. Nothing has been recovered yet. He was first rendered unconscious with chloroform and then strangled to death in an elite housing flat in Newtown.

The MP was hit on the head with a heavy object to ensure death. After that, the process of dismembering the body started. Butcher Jihad was brought to Calcutta and kept in a flat near Chinar Park. After the murder, the bones and flesh are separated and the pieces of the body are smeared with turmeric and thrown into the reservoirs of various places. That reservoir is now being searched.
