Kejriwal did not leave the post of Chief Minister even from jail

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been released on interim bail for 21 days after being imprisoned for more than a month and a half. After his release, he addressed a press conference at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office on Saturday. At that time, he told why he did not step down from the post of Chief Minister despite the pressure of the government party.

After the arrest, this top leader of Aam Aadmi Party performed the duties of Chief Minister from jail. The government party repeatedly pressured him to resign, but he did not step down from his post. In this regard, Kejriwal said, “The post of chief minister is not a big deal for me, but the ruling party wants to make the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party leaderless by keeping them in jail.”

According to an NDTV report, Kejriwal has alleged that the ruling party has used the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to keep Kejriwal away from campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India. He claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to implicate AAP in this false case to make it ineffective. In this case he is using EDK.

He did not resign from the post of chief minister despite the non-cooperation of the government party mainly to keep his party united. Earlier three more leaders of Aam Aadmi Party were arrested. They are Satyender Jain, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh.

Addressing Modi at the press conference, Kejriwal said, “If the Prime Minister wants to take everything in the fight against corruption, he should learn from us.” I sent corrupt bureaucrats and even ministers of my own party to jail.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Kejriwal on March 21 for his involvement in the excise corruption case. The Chief Minister of Delhi claimed that he was arrested without any evidence. Not a single penny of corruption was found from them. The motive is purely political. The government does not want to allow the elected chief minister to campaign before the elections. They want to disband the Aam Aadmi Party. Aam Aadmi Party chief alleged that they used ED for that reason.
