Kejriwal got bail in corruption case

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gets bail in Excise corruption case. Vacation Judge Nyaya Bindu of Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court granted the bail on Thursday.

According to Indian media NDTV, the Delhi court has granted conditional bail to the Aam Aadmi Party (UP) chief on a personal bond of one lakh rupees. Along with that, the judge rejected the application of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a 48-hour stay on that verdict.

Kejriwal can leave the jail only after the bail order letter reaches the jail. As such, Aam Aadmi Party chief may come out of jail on Friday.

Kejriwal’s normal bail plea is being questioned in the court. ED tries to point out Kejri’s link with other accused in Delhi Excise corruption case. Palta Kejri’s lawyer claims that the central agency has no evidence against the Delhi Chief Minister.

After that hearing, the judge granted Kejri conditional bail on Thursday evening. He directed that Kejri cannot try to obstruct the investigation process. Cannot influence any witness. Also, whenever necessary, you have to attend the court. The Delhi court has clearly stated that Kejri will have to cooperate in the investigation.

Kejriwal was arrested before the Indian Lok Sabha elections in the excise case. Later, however, he was granted interim bail on the orders of the Supreme Court within the polls. His bail expired on June 1, after the completion of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections. Later he again surrendered to the court and went back to jail.
