Kejriwal's 14-day jail term extended

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s jail term extended in excise corruption case. At the same time, the jail term of Telangana Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha, who is accused in excise corruption, has also been extended.

The court ordered their 14-day jail custody on Tuesday. They will remain in jail till May 7. NDTV.

Apart from Kejriwal and Kavita, Goa’s Aam Aadmi Party fundraiser Chanpreet Singh was also produced virtually in the Rouse Avenue court today. Up Supremo was arrested by ED on March 21 in Excise corruption case. Then he was sent to Tihar Jail from ED custody. The Chief Minister of Delhi appealed to the Supreme Court against the arrest from jail. The next hearing of the case is on April 29. However, the Supreme Court summoned the response from the ED within April 24 regarding the arrest.

Incidentally, last week Kejriwal’s wife Sunita alleged that the jail was trying to kill her husband without giving him insulin. One after another the leaders complained that Kejriwal is being tried to be killed inside the jail. Delhi Chief Minister’s diabetes worsened without getting insulin. On Tuesday, the jail authorities told the court that Kejriwal is healthy. His diabetes level has normalized.
