Ministry: Around 350 Flights Pass Through Afghanistan’s Airspace Daily

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation reports an increase in flights passing through Afghanistan’s airspace.

Imamuddin Ahmadi, the spokesperson for the ministry, said that in the past week, around 350 flights have passed through the country’s airspace daily.

The ministry’s spokesperson stated: “Recently, the number of transit flights through our airspace has significantly increased. Over the past 5 to 6 days, approximately 350 transit flights have taken place every 24 hours.”

Some economic experts believe that the increase in transit flights through Afghanistan’s airspace benefits the country’s economy.

Abdul Nasir Reshtia, an economic expert, said: “The more the government works to create a safe environment in our airspace, the more we can benefit from it, as it will allow more flights to pass through our skies.”

Qutbuddin Yaqubi, another economic expert, said: “If the safety systems used globally for flight security are implemented, ensuring the security of Afghanistan’s airspace, it would lead to an increase in flights, which could play a crucial role in Afghanistan’s economy.”

Previously, Reuters reported that Singapore Airlines and British Airways have increased their flights through Afghanistan’s airspace due to conflicts in the Middle East.
