Modi asks Rahul why he is silent on Ambani-Adani issue

India’s Lok Sabha elections are underway. Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi “attacked” Rahul Gandhi. Throwing oblique questions at Rahul, he said, why is the Congress leader not shouting about ‘Ambani-Adani’ anymore, why did he keep silent on that issue after the announcement of Lok Sabha elections?

The Prime Minister of India threw this question at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after an election rally in Telangana on Wednesday (May 8).

Modi said, “For five years, Shahzada of Congress has been saying only one thing. That is the Rafale issue. After the end of the Rafale issue, he started a new clamor with ‘five industrialists’. After that, he gradually came up with the ‘Ambani-Adani’ issue.

“But he stopped shouting about Ambani-Adani after the election was announced. Today I stand on the ground of Telangana and want to know how much money they have taken from Ambanis? How much money was taken from Adani? Is there any agreement on this? Why did he shut his mouth about Ambani Adani so soon? ‘Jarur dal mein kuchch kala hai’ (There must be some secret reason)”, added Narendra Modi.

He also said, ‘Whom you abused for five years, you so easily shut up about them?’

Why this counter attack of Modi? Because Rahul said, “Where the BJP government after coming to power made 22 Indians ‘arabapati’ (billionaires), the Congress will make crores of people ‘millionaires’ if it comes to power in this election.”

The place where Modi asked the question is also very important. Telangana. It is a Congress ruled state. Recently, the Modi government has signed several MoUs with the Adani Group for a total investment of Rs 12,400 crore in various sectors.

BJP has responded to Congress’ repeated verbal attacks on top industrialists. Moreover, former Congress spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh, who recently joined the BJP, said, “The party leadership forced him to speak against billionaire Gautam Adani.”

In an exclusive interview to NDTV, Gaurav said, ‘I am the only person who held a press conference against Adani. But with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) probe giving clearance to the Adani Group, I told senior party leaders not to discuss the matter any further. But they did not stop.

Meanwhile, reacting to PM Modi’s comments, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said,
“When the Prime Minister plays full toss, he rambles on such nonsense. I challenge him to take a full toss against jobs, corruption and atrocities on women.’
