India’s Lok Sabha elections ended in seven phases. The Election Commission of India will announce the election results on June 4. However, immediately after the election, the results were announced in different media of the country. It reported the majority of the coalition NDA led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Narendra Modi himself has claimed victory in such a situation. After such a claim by Modi, his main opposition party Congress has also counter-claimed victory.

According to the Boothferat survey, Modi’s BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is going to get an absolute majority (more than 350 seats) like the last two times. After the results of the polls were released, Modi made several posts on social media claiming victory. In it, he wrote, “I can say with confidence that the people of India have voted to re-elect the NDA government.” However, Modi did not provide any evidence for his victory.

Modi thanked voters and party workers – who braved the heat and exercised their right to vote.

Besides, PM Modi criticized the opposition parties in the post on X. He wrote, they could not bring in favor of the voters. They are racist, sectarian, corrupt.

While Modi claimed victory, his main opposition party, Rahul Gandhi’s Indian Congress, also claimed the same. The party said it will win more than 295 seats this time and secure a majority.

This time the Congress-led alliance ‘India’ fought against Modi’s NDA alliance. Both sides are claiming victory now, but the real outcome will come on June 4. The Election Commission of the country will officially announce the election results on this day.

There are a total of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha of India. If a party or coalition wants to form the government, it needs to win at least 272 seats.
